It applies to Family Portraits, Maternity Sessions, Newborn Sessions,
You will hear from us within 24 hours. From there we will try to book a call to know you better and for you to know us and our work better, and see if we are a good fit for your needs.
We can meet in person or through a video call if it’s more convenient for you.
Yes, we can travel por weddings. Depending on the distance a travel and/or accommodation fee may be required. However, if it’s a destination wedding, we would have to chat to get all the details to know what is involved.
We require a $1000 retainer to secure your date on packages that are above $2000 or 50% on packages below that value. We book on a first-come, first served basis, so whoever puts their retainer down on the date first gets it. You are able, however, to secure your date without committing to a package (min 6 hour coverage); you can put down a retainer on your date and choose your package later on. We don’t need to know which package you’re going with until your engagement session, because that will determine how we process your images and whether we’re prepping them for an engagement album or not. The remainder of the funds are due two weeks prior to your wedding, primarily so we don’t have to shake you down for a cheque on the morning of your wedding!
First of all, we care too much about your wedding. If you read our About page, you will understand why. Our wedding pictures were a disaster! We don’t want anybody to have to go through anything like that.
We have international experience and can work on any kind of wedding, from the smallest to the biggest. Our relaxed approach makes clients feel we are just another friend helping them out on their wedding.
We also have tons of experience working with family portraits, what makes it so easy to photograph large families, kids, and any sort of mixed groupings.
Many photographers tend to put the main light in their pictures to their back. While this ensures that the scene is lit evenly, it also doesn’t allow for many shadows. Because the light is hitting the subject from the same direction as the lens capturing them, the lack of shadows makes the resulting pictures look very flat and two-dimensional. Our approach is to put the light to the side or behind our subjects, which makes for more dramatic images due to the shadows that are included in the image. As well, we use off camera lighting to light receptions, rather than a flash that is mounted to our camera. This also leads to images that look more three dimensional than if we had the flash on our camera.
Every session and wedding is very different, and each has a gamma of variables that will determine the number of pictures that we walk away with. On average, however, we typically deliver between 50 and 90 unique images from sessions, and an average of 110 images per hour of wedding coverage.
For sessions (family portraits, engagement sessions, maternity and newborn sessions) we typically deliver your images within 2 weeks of your shoot. For weddings, usually 1 month.
We know that a wedding can’t be rescheduled or put on hold just because a photographer is sick or injured. Because of that – and because 100% of our business is weddings – we have a very thorough system to ensure that another team of professionals can cover for us in the event of an emergency.
Lucas will always be at your wedding and Aline will work as the second shooter in case you have decided to have one. We have 2 young children that depend on us and if we can’t find a sitter for your wedding date, then a different second shooter will be there.
If Lucas and Aline are incapacitated, you will know as soon as possible, and we will provide you options for the same photography coverage you have hired us for. We are part of a Facebook group that has over 60 full time professionals in town who do fantastic quality work, and who we can pull from in the event of an emergency. Although, that has never happened so far.
We want to make sure that not only *you* will have a quality experience on your wedding day, but also that our brand is represented well. Because we know and work with so many quality professionals in the area, we always have that safety net available to us, so you can have peace of mind knowing that our bases are covered in the event of an emergency.
There are two answers for this one.
If you move your wedding to a date that we are available for, we have no problem swapping dates for you. If this happens and we’re able to rebook your original date, there is no additional charge for this, because we know that most times when this happens there’s enough stress involved. However, since we’ll have been turning away weddings for your original date, if we can’t rebook it the retainer on that date will not be able to be applied to the final balance on your new date.
If we are not available for your new date, our contract states that it will be seen as a cancellation on our clients’ end, and any funds paid up to that point are non-refundable.
If you need to move your session to a date that we are available for, we have no problem swapping dates for you. If this happens and we’re able to rebook your original date, there is no additional charge for this. We will provide you other options and try to find one that fits both, you and us.
However, if a new date cannot be found, and the reason of cancelation is not weather/sickness related, our contract states that it will be seen as a cancellation on our clients’ end, and any funds paid up to that point are non-refundable.
That’s not a problem at all! If you have any requests that are not the typical shots that we take at every wedding we definitely want to know, especially if it’s something that has a lot of sentimental value to you. The only thing to keep in mind is that, since it’s a live event and we can’t control everything, we can’t guarantee that we will be able to get 100% of your requests, and we can’t guarantee that 100% of them will be a Pinterest-worthy creation. We can certainly do our best though!
